On May 26, 1910, Imi Lichtenfeld (Z”L), the creator of Krav Maga, was born in Budapest. 1942
Krav Maga was created in the region known today as Israel.
At the time, Imi joined the Haganá group, which fought for the protection of the local Jewish community and the country's independence and, in this context, he created Krav Maga.

Independence of Israel. At this time, Krav Maga was evaluated, tested and then adopted as the sole defense philosophy of the Israel Defense Forces (IDF), as it is to this day. So Imi became the chief physical fitness and self-defense instructor for the Israeli army. - TIMELINE - 1963/1964
